Class 1 Driver - Out and Back
About The Role
As a Class 1 Out and Back Driver, you will play a vital role in delivering outstanding service to our customers across the UK. In this position, you will:
- Take responsibility for the collection and delivery of palletised goods, operating a curtain-sided trailer with professionalism and care.
- Ensure every load is safely secured, using ratchet straps and carrying out some manual handling to maintain the highest safety standards.
- Use a handheld PDA to complete all delivery documentation accurately and efficiently, keeping the process smooth and streamlined.
- Maintain regular communication with our transport team, providing updates on progress to ensure customer expectations are met and exceeded.
- Complete planned daily routes and return to your home depot at the end of each shift, ensuring all deliveries and collections are carried out safely and on time.
- Participate in ongoing training and development, staying up to date with industry best practices and continuously enhancing your skills.
Essential Skills And Qualifications
- You must hold a valid UK Class 1 CE licence, enabling you to operate articulated vehicles with confidence and professionalism.
- A current Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (DCPC) and a Digital Tachograph Driver Card are essential to ensure compliance with legal and safety standards.
- We're looking for someone who takes pride in delivering exceptional customer service, representing our brand with professionalism and care at every stop.
- You'll need to be comfortable working to tight schedules, managing your time effectively to ensure deliveries are made promptly and safely.
- A confident and polite communicator, You'll work closely with colleagues across transport and logistics, contributing to a supportive and efficient team environment.
- A good understanding of UK road networks, particularly across Essex and surrounding regions, will help you navigate routes efficiently and avoid delays.
