About The Role
- Perform shunting operations between our customer site in Crediton and our North Tawton site, ensuring the safe and efficient transport of loads.
- Shunt, load, and unload trailers, ensuring all units are safely positioned in designated bays and yard areas.
- Support general yard operations to maintain a safe, efficient, and well-organised working environment.
- Conduct comprehensive daily vehicle safety inspections using company-issued mobile technology, ensuring compliance with safety standards and optimal vehicle reliability.
- Liaise effectively with the transport office and wider transport team, providing timely updates on trailer status, safety checks, load conditions, and operational progress.
- Ensure all vehicle movements and yard activities are carried out safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Participate in regular training and development activities to maintain compliance with industry standards, best practices, and company procedures.
- Complete shunter training in line with company requirements, ensuring ongoing competence, compliance, and safe working practices at all times.
