Job Description
Join Our Team as a Skilled Truck and Trailer Technician! Are you passionate about trucks and trailers? Do you have a knack for diagnosing and repairing electrical and mechanical faults? If so, we have the perfect opportunity for you!
Key Responsibilities
- Service Excellence: Perform service, inspection, maintenance, and repair of trucks and trailers to keep them running smoothly.
- Diagnostic Expertise: Utilise your skills to diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical issues efficiently.
- Electrical Repairs: Replace and repair electrical equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Precision Work: Set up and operate machine tools and equipment with precision.
- Welding Mastery: Showcase your welding and metal repair skills.
- MOT Preparation: Prepare vehicles for MOT testing to meet all regulatory standards.
- Parts Management: Order necessary parts to keep our operations seamless.
- Team Collaboration: Work well within the team and support apprentices in their growth.
- Detailed Record-Keeping: Record time and details of all jobs carried out meticulously.
- Clean & Safe Environment: Maintain a clean workplace and adhere to health and safety policies.
- Customer Interaction: Communicate effectively with customers to understand their needs and provide excellent service.
- Continuous Improvement: Participate in training and development programs to stay updated with the latest industry standards and technologies.
- Inventory Management: Assist in managing inventory levels to ensure availability of necessary parts and tools.
- Quality Control: Conduct quality checks to ensure all repairs and services meet the highest standards.
Requirements
- Education & Experience: Qualified up to NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Goods Maintenance or equivalent, or proven experience as an HGV Technician or in a similar vehicle maintenance role.
- Diagnostic Skills: Diagnostic skills and qualifications are desirable.
- Licensing: A valid Class 1 licence is desirable, but we will provide training and support to help you obtain it.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficient in using hand tools and power tools.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.

- Competitive Salary: £58,000 per annum, based on 40 hours per week.
- Overtime pay: Hourly rate x 1.5 = £42.00ph.
- Hours: 14:30hrs – 23:00hrs, Monday to Friday, but this can be discussed at interview.
- Overtime: Available and paid hourly.
- Standby Rota: You will receive £10.00 per shift when on standby rota basis.
- Call Out: For each call out, you will receive £20.00 call out charge.
- Call Out (ph): Any hours worked on call out, you will receive £42.00ph.
