About The Role
As a Class 1 Driver, you will play a key role in the safe, professional, and efficient movement of palletised freight across our network. Your responsibilities will include:
- Operating curtain‑side or flatbed trailers to collect and deliver customer products.
- Trunking palletised freight between depots and pallet‑network hubs on planned day routes.
- Ensuring all freight is correctly loaded, secured, and restrained, using straps, nets, and other appropriate securing equipment in line with network standards.
- Completing thorough daily vehicle safety checks—both pre‑departure and end‑of‑shift—using your company device to maintain full compliance.
- Accurately handling all paperwork, scanning, and freight verification, ensuring smooth hub and depot operations.
- Maintaining regular, clear communication with the Transport Team, providing updates, reporting issues, and helping manage customer expectations.
- Representing the business professionally at all customer sites, depots, and network hubs.
- Participating in ongoing training and development, staying up to date with industry standards and best practice.
Essential Skills And Qualifications
- Must hold a UK Class 1 CE Licence.
- Current DCPC Card and Digital Tachograph Driver Card.
- Experience of delivering loads directly to client sites is advantageous.
- Tanker experience is desirable but not essential as training will be given.
- Passionate about providing excellent customer service.
- Ability to work to deadlines.
- Confident, polite, and a team player.
- Good geographical knowledge.
- Fit, flexible, hardworking, and self‑motivated.
