At Gregory Distribution, we are currently seeking a Transport Planner in our Cullompton depot. This position will be working within the transport team and will involve all aspect of the transport administration processes and coordination of the day to day running of this busy contract. Key Responsibilities: Plan and coordinate daily transport operations, ensuring timely nationwide deliveries and collections. Schedule and allocate loads across a fleet of articulated vehicles, optimising routes and vehicle usage. Monitor key performance indicators including on-time delivery, shift revenue, and vehicle utilisation, taking action to improve performance where needed. Brief and debrief drivers regularly, providing updates, feedback, and support to ensure smooth operations. Work closely with the warehouse and on-site shunter to ensure trailer and vehicle availability aligns with operational needs. Oversee vehicle checks and defect reporting via the Vehicle Check App, ensuring compliance with safety standards. Communicate collection and delivery times with internal teams and external customers, maintaining high service levels. Attend regular meetings with Line Managers to review performance and identify areas for improvement. Identify opportunities to add value to the contract through service enhancements or operational efficiencies. Ensure all contracted work is accurately booked and aligned with customer expectations. Track daily revenue targets and report weekly performance to the Transport Manager. Maintain and update Transport Management Systems (TMS) to ensure accurate and timely data. Carry out general administrative tasks including data entry, filing, and document management. Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and health and safety regulations. Requirements: Experience of working in a similar role is preferred. Ability to communicate at all levels. Strong geographical knowledge of the UK. Excellent organisational skills and prioritising workload. Attention to detail. Working to deadlines. Solution driven and Flexible approach to your work.
