We are looking for an enthusiastic Transport Operator to join our team. This position will be working within the transport team and will involve all aspects of the transport administration processes and coordination of the day-to-day running of this busy contract.
Key Responsibilities:
- Planning & Organising: Managing activities during peak and off-peak periods.
- Leadership: Handling day-to-day transport issues and debriefing drivers.
- Freight Management: Checking freight into the depot and scanning onto vehicles.
- Customer Interaction: Working closely with customers to ensure smooth operations.
- Driver Management: Managing and debriefing drivers.
- Resource Utilisation: Maximising the use of resources and planning ahead.
- Reporting: Providing regular reports and making recommendations.
- Communication: Handling queries via email, phone, and face-to-face.
- KPI Production: Assisting in the production of KPIs and daily statistics.
- Support: Providing direct assistance for breakdowns.
- Team Collaboration: Promoting positive relationships and offering support.
Required Experience:
- Previous administration experience working within the Transport and Logistics industry.
- Knowledge of Manpack traffic system is advantageous.
- Ability to communicate at all levels.
- Strong geographical knowledge of the UK.
- Excellent organisational skills and prioritising workload.
- Attention to detail is critical and working to deadlines daily.
- Able to work as part of a team and on your own initiative.
- Computer literate. MS packages to include, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
