Job Description
We are looking for a Warehouse Team Leader to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will oversee daily warehouse operations, ensuring efficiency, safety, and productivity. Key Responsibilities
- Monitor picking operations within designated area to ensure safety and performance are maintained in-line with company expectations and targets.
- Leading a team of circa 20 warehouse operatives.
- Engage with pickers and warehouse operatives to encourage best practice.
- Take appropriate action via shift supervisors to ensure any system or facility issues affecting optimal pick rate are rectified in a timely manner.
- Ensure warehouse operatives are following company procedure in terms of safety and picking operations.
- Use warehouse systems to accurately receive, locate, pick, and dispatch goods whilst handling all goods with care and attention.
- Monitor finished pick to ensure best practice in terms of caged goods, consolidation and security are followed to achieve maximum load fill without damage to customer products. E.g. heavy items stacked on-top of lighter items, over height/overweight caged goods etc.
- Replenish stock and consolidate inventory as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation in the warehouse and ensure the equipment is kept in good condition.
Requirements
- Previous experience of working within the warehouse/transport environment is essential.
- IT knowledge including warehouse management systems is preferred.
- Be able to lead change, engage and communicate to the team.
- Be able to identify and drive continuous improvement.
- You will be leading a team remotely, experience of this is advantageous.
- Previous customer service experience essential, over the telephone and on email.
- Ability to communicate at all levels.
- Excellent organisational skills and prioritising workload.
- Able to work as part of a team and on own initiative.
