Salary: £39,237 per annum, based on 48 hours per week

Shift Hours: Start between 03:00hrs – 06:00hrs, Monday to Friday

About the Role

As a Class 1 Driver, you will:

  • Use curtain side and box trailers on single and double deck trailers, to deliver goods to retail stores across the UK.
  • Complete an average of 1 to 3 delivery drops per shift in line with schedule and route planning.
  • Ensure all loads are safely and securely fastened using straps, nets, and other securing equipment to prevent movement or damage during transit.
  • Manage tail lift deliveries, ensuring safe and efficient unloading at client sites.
  • Perform comprehensive daily vehicle safety checks using your company phone to maintain top‑notch vehicle safety and reliability.
  • Maintain regular communication with the transport office to provide updates on delivery progress and respond to any changes or issues in real time.
  • Represent the company professionally at every delivery point, ensuring excellent customer service and building strong relationships with store teams.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development, including refresher courses and updates on industry regulations, to keep your skills sharp and compliant.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

  • Must hold a UK Class 1 CE Licence.
  • Current DCPC Card and Digital Tachograph Driver Card.
  • Previous experience delivering to retail or commercial sites (preferred but not essential).
  • A strong focus on customer service, with the ability to communicate clearly and courteously.
  • The ability to work to tight schedules while maintaining high safety standards.
  • A positive, team‑oriented attitude and the ability to work independently when required.
  • Good geographical knowledge and route planning awareness.
