About the Role
- Operate a Class 1 vehicle in full compliance with all applicable local, regional, and national transportation regulations, ensuring the highest standards of safety and legal adherence at all times.
- Execute scheduled out-and-back delivery routes, ensuring punctual and efficient transportation of goods with timely return to the base, while maintaining excellent customer service and route integrity.
- Perform comprehensive vehicle inspections, including pre‑trip, en‑route, and post‑trip checks, to identify and report any mechanical issues or safety concerns in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.
- Liaise with customers in person and over the phone to support the smooth execution of delivery operations.
- Master the art of load security with ratchet straps and manual handling, ensuring every delivery is safe and secure.
- Keep in constant contact with the transport team, offering updates on your progress and ensuring our customers’ expectations are consistently met.
- Engage in regular training sessions to stay updated with the latest industry standards and best practices, continuously improving your skills.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
- Hold a valid UK HGV Class 1 CE Licence, ready to take on the open road with confidence.
- Possess a current DCPC Card and UK Digital Tachograph Driver Card, ensuring you’re always compliant and prepared.
