Competitive Salary
£35,042 per annum - £40,154 per annum, depending on hours worked, with excellent opportunities to boost your earnings through overtime, weekend premiums and enhanced bank holiday rates.
About the Role
As a Class 1 Day Driver, you will:
- Operate a curtain side trailer or LST, collecting wheat powder from our customer site in Davidstow and transporting it safely and efficiently to our warehouse in Heathfield.
- Ensure goods are loaded and secured correctly to prevent shifting or damage. Use straps, nets, and other securing devices as needed.
- Perform comprehensive daily vehicle safety checks using your company phone to maintain top-notch vehicle safety and reliability.
- Stay in regular communication with the transport team to provide updates on your progress and ensure our customers' expectations are met.
- Participate in regular training sessions to stay ahead with the latest industry standards and best practices.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
- Hold a valid UK Class 1 CE Driving Licence.
- Possess a current Driver CPC qualification and Digital Tachograph Driver Card.
- Be passionate about delivering outstanding customer service and representing the business professionally.
- Demonstrate the ability to work efficiently and effectively to meet deadlines and delivery schedules.
- Have a confident, professional and courteous manner, with a strong team-focused approach.
- Possess good geographical knowledge and route planning awareness.
- Be flexible, reliable and self-motivated, with a strong work ethic and a willingness to adapt to operational requirements.
