Responsibilities
- Handle the loading and unloading of palletised / caged products from refrigerated trucks, ensuring goods are transported safely and securely.
- Master the art of load security with ratchet straps and part manual handling, ensuring every delivery is safe and secure.
- Operate out of Gregory/Booker Magor, delivering to Regional Distribution Centres (RDCs) across England, Wales and occasionally Scotland.
- Some handballing and self-tipping will be required, ideal for those who enjoy staying active and engaged throughout the day.
- Use your company-issued phone to carry out thorough daily vehicle safety inspections, helping us maintain the highest standards of road safety and reliability.
- Stay in regular contact with our transport team, providing updates on your progress to ensure smooth operations and excellent customer service.
- Experience the thrill of nights away, making each journey unique and fulfilling.
- Engage in regular training sessions to stay updated with the latest industry standards and best practices, continuously improving your skills.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
- You must hold a valid UK Class 1 CE Licence, enabling you to operate articulated vehicles with confidence and professionalism.
- A current Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (DCPC) and a Digital Tachograph Driver Card are essential to ensure compliance with legal and safety standards.
- Previous experience working with refrigerated trailers is a plus, but not essential - full training will be provided to get you up to speed.
- We’re looking for someone who takes pride in delivering exceptional customer service, representing our brand with professionalism and care at every stop.
- You’ll need to be comfortable working to tight schedules, managing your time effectively to ensure deliveries are made promptly and safely.
- A confident and polite communicator, you’ll work closely with colleagues across transport and logistics, contributing to a supportive and efficient team environment.
- A good understanding of UK road networks, particularly across England and Wales, will help you navigate routes efficiently and avoid delays.
