Salary: Competitive Salary: £39,353 per annum - £42,636 per annum, depending on hours worked. PLUS for all shifts starting between 21:00hrs & 04:00hrs, you will receive an additional £7.50 per shift.

Shift: 48 hour week, based on a 25-week rolling contract.

About the Role

As a Class 2 Driver, you will:

  • Operate a rigid vehicle equipped with a tail lift to deliver bakery products to a range of retail outlets, wholesale and convenience stores across the South of England.
  • Provide a high level of customer service at delivery points, engaging directly with customers to ensure delivery requirements are met and expectations are managed effectively.
  • Demonstrate flexibility to accommodate early start times, safely operate tail‑lift equipment, and carry out manual handling of bread deliveries in line with safe working practices.
  • Ensure all goods are loaded, secured, and transported correctly to prevent movement or damage, using straps, load restraint bars, and other securing equipment as required.
  • Conduct comprehensive daily vehicle safety checks using the company‑issued mobile device, ensuring vehicle safety, compliance, and reliability at all times.
  • Maintain regular communication with the transport team, providing timely updates on progress to support efficient operations and customer satisfaction.
  • Participate fully in regular training sessions to remain up to date with industry standards, compliance requirements, and best‑practice procedures.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

  • Must hold a UK Class 2 C Licence.
  • Current DCPC Card and Digital Tachograph Driver Card.
  • Ability to work effectively to deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Confident, courteous, and able to work well both independently and as part of a team.
  • Good geographical knowledge and route awareness.
  • Physically fit, flexible, hardworking, and self‑motivated with a positive attitude.
