Base pay range

We have a fantastic opportunity to join the Technology Engineering team at Greggs as a QA Engineer to drive innovative, greenfield products that enhance both digital and in-store experiences.

Working in an agile, cross-functional team, you\’ll help to ensure the quality and safe delivery of scalable, secure platforms supporting key digital solutions like click & collect, retail systems, and digital order fulfilment ensuring a seamless experience for millions of customers daily.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional squad members to define and refine acceptance criteria and test scenarios.
  • Design, implement, and maintain automated and manual test suites for front-end, and API layers.
  • Write and maintain robust, reusable test scripts for functional, regression, and integration testing.
  • Conduct exploratory, performance, and accessibility testing across multiple environments.
  • Integrate testing into CI/CD pipelines to enable fast feedback and continuous delivery.
  • Participate in agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
  • Advocate for quality throughout the product lifecycle, identifying risks and opportunities for improvement.
  • Monitor and report on test coverage, defects, and release readiness – utilise test data to build comprehensive reports to help continuous improvement.
  • Support the squad in troubleshooting and reproducing issues found in production.
  • Maintain awareness of the changing security landscape, always considering levels of risk and promote the importance of following security best practices
  • Stay up to date on emerging test technologies, frameworks and industry trends to drive test efficiencies and advancements within the team

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in both manual and automation software testing or QA engineering.
  • Experience writing and maintaining automated test scripts using tools like Cypress, or Selenium IDE.
  • Proficiency in API testing tools (e.g. Postman).
  • Experience in AI LLMs such as ChatGPT and Claude to support
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g. Azure DevOps).
  • Solid knowledge of testing principles, defect tracking, and test case management.
  • Experience in accessibility and performance testing.
  • Experience of cloud platforms (e.g. Azure).
  • Good understanding of agile methodologies and working in digital product squads.
  • Good knowledge of the full software delivery life cycle, working closely with engineers to drive efficiencies.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

It\’s not essential, but we\’d love to hear if you have the following:

  • Hands-on experience with Flutter test automation.
  • Experience testing mobile applications (iOS/Android).
  • Understanding of cost management principles when working with cloud services.
  • Experience working with logging and monitoring tools to ensure reliability of services within a distributed system.
