We're looking for an experienced People Manager to join the Manufacturing & Logistics teams at our Manchester site on a temporary basis for 12 months. You will lead the people operations at the site, working closely with the Site Leadership Team to drive and deliver our People strategy. If you love variety, enjoy partnering with leaders, and thrive during change, this role will give you the scope to influence key decisions that support the site's long-term success.

About the role:

  • This is an on-site role averaging 4.5 days per week across Monday to Friday; flexibility across site shifts will be required on occasion to support the needs of the business. Consideration will also be given to requests for alternate hours.
  • The base location for this role is: Greggs 31 Greenside Street, Openshaw, Manchester M11 2HW

What you'll do:

  • Lead people operations across manufacturing and logistics at the Manchester site.
  • Drive and deliver our people strategy and plan, championing people initiatives to successful implementation.
  • Partner with the site leadership team to build a high-performing team.
  • Oversee recruitment and onboarding activities to support organisational growth.
  • Deliver strong, fair and inclusive colleague relations.
  • Support the site leadership team to drive colleague engagement.
  • Manage ER, performance, succession, D&I and wellbeing initiatives.

About you:

  • Have demonstrable experience in an HR management role (operational environment preferred).
  • Have strong change management experience.
  • Are an effective communicator, decision-maker and influencer across all levels.
  • Are self-motivated and able to plan and juggle multiple priorities.
  • Are proficient in Microsoft 365.
  • Enjoy being part of a dedicated team, sharing the same end goal, and celebrating results together.
  • Are supportive of an inclusive culture, recognising and valuing that difference is good.
  • CIPD is a bonus, but not essential – your passion and experience matter most.
