We have a fantastic opportunity to join the Leeds Logistics team at Greggs! You’ll oversee a high volume 24/7 warehouse operation responsible for distributing chilled, frozen and ambient goods to over 270 shops. You’ll lead a large multi-disciplinary team across multiple temperature-controlled environments, managing day to day operations with a focus on safety, quality, efficiency and colleague engagement. You’ll be accountable for operational performance and compliance driving continuous improvement to shape exciting and dynamic ways of working within the Leeds Warehousing function.

About the role

This is a full-time role, however flexibility in this will be considered. We know that having a work-life balance is important, so we offer our colleagues as much flexibility as possible in line with the needs of their role. The base location for this role is Leeds, LS13 4UD.

What you'll do:

  • Taking responsibility for the implementation of the business plan for the future growth of the Distribution Centre.
  • Overseeing the recruitment and development of the warehouse team to be able to deliver to 280+ shops.
  • Ensuring goods are available to be despatched to the shops at the time required to meet service levels.
  • Leading and acting as Champion for warehouse management systems.
  • Creating and implementing rota patterns for 24-7 cover whilst maintaining service and budgetary control.
  • Reviewing internal customer interface and systems to identify actions to improve customer satisfaction.
  • Developing and maintaining set Key Performance Indicators and ensuring these are fully utilised to drive improvement.
  • Leading the Logistics site team meetings to identify areas to improve cost and customer service KPI performance.
  • Managing the despatch process to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Managing Manual Handling Equipment fleet and compliance.
  • Ensuring that Health and Safety and Food Hygiene regulations and standards are adhered to.
  • Ensuring that Team training is carried out within company policy and legal compliance.
  • Leading the team with high visibility through regular meetings and coaching, promoting a culture of achievement and responsibility in line with the values.
  • Carrying out PDR’s with direct reports, agreeing targets and objectives, conducting monthly 1 to 1’s and agreeing individual development plans to forge strong communication links within the department.
  • Assisting the Logistics Manager in identifying and developing proactive warehouse approaches.

About you

You will fit right into this role if you:

  • Have significant experience in fast moving logistics environment, previous fast moving consumer goods distribution experience would be ideal.
  • Have strong financial acumen and proven track record for managing large operational budgets.
  • Are a strong team player, able to build good working relationships at all levels both internally and externally.
  • Can demonstrate a proven ability to provide excellence in customer service.
  • Have proven high levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Have experience of, and the ability to multi-task and work with multiple priorities calmly and at pace.
  • Are results focused with strong planning, prioritising and organisation skills.
  • Can multi-task and work with multiple priorities at pace, delivering results within tight timescales.
  • Have advanced IT skills including Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams.
  • Are self-motivated with the ability to work under pressure and using own initiative.

Salary Circa £50,000 per annum, depending on experience. Frequency Annual. Contract Type Permanent. Contract Details Monday to Friday, however some flexibility may be required depending on business needs.
