  • Colleague Networks - internal groups where colleagues and their allies can share their own experiences, offer feedback on the way we do things at Greggs, and provide support to one another, Plan and review new driver training covering site introduction, routes, safe systems of work, Tacho procedures, defect reporting and walk round checks
  • Perform annual in cab driver assessments
  • Retrain underperforming drivers such as those with poor anticipation and/or high levels of harsh braking
  • Retrain and assess drivers following RTIs
  • Deliver DVWC Training and Slow Manoeuvring Course as directed
  • Conduct Driver Assessments of Greggs Shop Maintenance Team as appropriate
  • Assist with the administration of RTI investigations and retraining
  • Carries out annual refresher training for Tachographs, Defect reporting and walk round checks.
  • Train drivers in vehicle and equipment (eg taillift) specific use
  • Carries out specific Tacho training with drivers who have infringed as agreed with site
  • Carries out safe systems training with drivers and loaders to include loading, deliveries, refuelling, use of tail lifts etc
  • Assists the Department in carrying out new shop reviews and reports back on any issues
  • In conjunction with site management identify training & development needs
  • Evaluate the impact of training and development activities to support improvement
  • Work with the site Learning & Development Facilitator to ensure all training is recorded, the correct process is followed and the correct documentation is used at all times

You will fit right into this role if you

  • Hold a valid Class 1 C+E Driving Licence
  • Have a current CPC and digital tachograph card
  • Excellent standard of driver performance.
  • Proficient using Word, Excel and Powerpoint applications.
  • Experience of producing clear, accurate and concise written reports.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise effectively.
  • Strong understanding of current transport legislation and EU/WTD Regulations.
  • Confident in course presentation to groups.
  • Able to work away from home, if and when required.

Desired Qualifications

  • PTTLS, Award In Education Level 3 or similar qualification.
  • RTITB, Ro SPA or DIA qualified trainer.
