Company: Our client is a leading market player in the delivery of popular ready-made meal solutions across the island of Ireland and is recognized for its continuous rollout of innovative products. Their business supplies into the retail, food service, and airline markets within which it has been successfully expanding its market share. Opportunity: The opportunity has arisen for an experienced senior production professional to join their leadership team. A strong candidate is required to plan, lead, direct, and monitor all production to maximize the use of the organization’s resources to deliver finished goods according to customer demand and established production specifications. The Production Manager will ensure that robust control procedures are implemented, maintained, and enhanced to produce the highest quality products following strict HACCP guidelines. Responsibilities: Performance and Efficiency Management * Manage all aspects of the performance of the production facility, maximizing efficiencies and labor utilization. * Implement the company's FSQMS throughout the facility to ensure agreed-upon food safety and quality standards are consistently met. * Monitor all production/management data and respond accordingly. * Ensure all handling and use of ingredients/finished products targets a zero-wastage approach. * Measure, monitor, and control all costs within the budget. Operational Improvement and Audits * Apply Lean and continuous improvement principles to all processes. * Maintain and improve the production facility to ensure constant audit readiness for both announced and unannounced audits. * Collaborate with maintenance to efficiently address identified issues and minimize downtime. * Manage by walking around and react decisively in fast-paced situations. Team Leadership and Development * Chair production meetings involving relevant supervisors, maintenance, quality, and material supply teams. * Manage rosters and annual leave requests. * Conduct employee appraisals and probationary performance reviews in conjunction with the HR department. * Handle employee issues and disciplinary actions in conjunction with the HR department. Training and Process Development * Propose new initiatives and define Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to adapt to evolving processes. * Define a training matrix as required. * Ensure shift supervisors have the necessary skills and training to lead their teams effectively. * Define and lead a framework for training, cross-training, and development for production and hygiene staff. Candidate Requirements: * Minimum of 5 years' experience leading teams in a similar role or environment. * HACCP certification at least level 3. * Strong business acumen in fast paced manufacturing settings. * Proven success in team development and management. * Solid understanding of processes, variables, and basic engineering concepts. * Effective implementation of Lean Manufacturing principles. * Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. * Exhibits enthusiasm, optimism, and a positive attitude. * Strong financial and numeracy skills. * Demonstrates leadership while also being a collaborative team player. * Motivates and leads direct teams, overseeing operations. * Proficient in planning activities and projects using effective planning tools. Remuneration: As an indication salary would be €80,000-€120,000 PA (depending on experience), and the finer details will be discussed with the successful candidate.
