An opportunity has become available for an experienced Vehicle Technician to join our Aftersales department. You will benefit from operating in a franchised environment where standards are high and delivering quality and service to the customer is paramount. As we seek to continue to grow our already well established service department you will benefit from our investment in training, technology and tools, as well as working with a successful and motivated team. You must be able to produce high quality work in a busy motor trade environment and be motivated through deadlines and targets, showing flexibility according to the needs of your team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to identify mechanical problems and faults
- Perform repairs and maintenance to the standards laid down by the manufacturer and dealership
- Fitting of alloy wheels, body kits and accessories
- To carry out full PDI checks on all vehicles
- To complete a VHC on all jobs
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, including parts used and time spent on each job
- To ensure all jobs are completed within agreed timeframes and whilst maintaining a high level of workmanship
- To work closely with the workshop controller, service reception team and parts team to ensure we deliver an excellent customer experience
- Stay updated on the latest automotive technologies and repair techniques through continuous professional development
- To keep work area and protective clothing clean, tidy and in a safe condition.
Skills Required:
- Level 3 qualified Technician or equivalent, with at least 5 years experience
- Experience with using diagnostics and fault finding
- Ability to work on your own and as part of a team
- An excellent eye for detail
- Organised and hard working
- Honest and trustworthy
- Desire to continuously improve and up-skill through manufacturer training
- A mind-set that prioritizes health and safety matters
- A full, clean UK Driving Licence
Preferable, but not essential:
- Franchise training/experience, MG/Maxus preferable
- Vehicle preparation experience
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: Competitive basic salary (Dependent on Experience) plus Generous Bonus Scheme (OTE £40,000).
Working hours: Monday-Friday; 40 hours per week; One Saturday per month.
