The role

  • Support processing operations by responding effectively to equipment breakdowns, carrying out scheduled maintenance work, and proactively correcting and modifying recurring machine processing faults.
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns and prioritize focus on the nominated production area.
  • Fault‑find effectively and efficiently, utilizing machine historical documentation.
  • Establish harmonious relations with operational staff and work flexibly with them.
  • Pro‑actively reduce engineering downtime and continuously improve the process and the department.
  • Carry out engineering project work.
  • Other relevant duties as required from time to time.

Person Specification

  • Relevant experience within an FMCG/food processing/manufacturing environment.
  • Relevant experience in industrial and electrical engineering (multi‑skilled) with a stronger bias in electrical.
  • Formal qualification in both mechanical and electrical engineering.
  • Boiler operating experience.
  • Strong understanding of H&S.
  • PLC fault‑finding/diagnostic skills.
  • HACCP compliance knowledge.
  • Electrical test and inspection trained.
  • Welding trained.
  • PLC trained.
  • Breathing apparatus and confined spaces qualified.
