Be the technical authority behind a landmark building.

We're looking for a Technical Services Manager to become the dedicated engineering and MEP expert for a prestigious London office building. This is a hands-on technical leadership role at the heart of a high-quality commercial property — where your expertise will directly shape how the building performs, evolves and meets the demands of a modern, sustainability-focused occupier base.

You'll be the engineering touchpoint that everyone turns to: the site team, contractors, consultants and clients. If you want a role where technical depth meets real influence — driving smart building technology, sustainability initiatives and major building works — this is it.

What you'll be doing:

  • Acting as the dedicated technical resource for the building, supporting the wider operational team
  • Leading on building optimisation, smart building technology and IoT monitoring initiatives
  • Driving MEES compliance and carbon/net-zero projects
  • Leading technical input on fit-out, redevelopment and project works, including reviewing technical documentation
  • Managing relationships with MEP/VT supply partners and consultants
  • Overseeing compliance documentation, audit schedules and statutory certification
  • Chairing contractor meetings, reviewing KPIs and closing out actions
  • Reviewing contractor quotations and providing recommendations on instruction
  • Leading long-term asset replacement planning and budget setting with site teams
  • Managing and communicating significant MEP incidents through to resolution
  • Providing ad hoc technical advice to clients on all M&E matters
  • Occasional out-of-hours support for emergency and maintenance activities

What you'll bring:

  • Around 4 years' experience in a similar technical services / building engineering role
  • Strong understanding of building engineering, technical services and maintenance within high-quality commercial office property
  • Solid grounding in Health & Safety, COSHH, L8, LOLER, PUWER, IPAF, PASMA, CDM and High Voltage distribution
  • Knowledge of working at height, confined spaces, pressure systems and HVAC operation and maintenance
  • Confident written and verbal communicator, comfortable engaging clients, occupiers, suppliers and stakeholders at all levels
  • A relevant engineering qualification, and ideally a professional membership such as IWFM, NEBOSH or IOSH
  • Strong organisational skills — spreadsheets, reports and clear, persuasive written communication

Why this role:

You'll have genuine ownership of the technical agenda for a flagship building, real scope to introduce new technology and sustainability solutions, and the backing of a wider facilities management, building consultancy and sustainability network. It's a role for someone who wants their technical judgement to matter and their impact to be visible.
