Hours: 7-10 hours per week, increased at busy periods.
Responsibilities:
- Contribute to and maintain content on the Hub's primary social media accounts (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok).
- Create engaging video content for social channels, including planning, filming with students, and basic editing.
- Write content for the website, social media, and emails that showcases the student community and GSU activities.
- Monitor and respond to enquiries on primary accounts in a timely manner, passing on information to relevant staff.
- Work with the Medway team to ensure Hub website content is up to date.
- Ensure print collateral is displayed and distributed effectively.
- Use design and editing software – Canva, Capcut, and possibly Adobe.
General Responsibilities:
- Attend appropriate training, events, conferences and meetings as required.
- Undertake other tasks and responsibilities compatible with the post, as required by the Marketing and Communications Coordinator.
- Adhere to the GSU Constitution, policies and procedures at all times, including the Equality and Diversity Statement and the Health and Safety and Sustainability Policies.
- Contribute to the positive image of GSU with students, the University, the local community and other relevant organisations.

Experience:
- Creating engaging content for social media, whether in a professional, voluntary or personal capacity.
- Writing for print or digital, e.g. blogging (desirable).
Skills and Abilities:
- Basic photography and videography skills using a mobile phone.
- Clear communication skills face to face, as well as on social media, email and the phone.
- Ability to identify and communicate appropriately to a range of audiences.
- IT skills at a level that supports innovative social media and digital content management.
- Reliable time management and organisational skills.
- Self‐motivated with the confidence to work alone but can also work co‐operatively and flexibly as part of a team.
- Ability to stay focused and efficient in the face of changing priorities.
- Basic design capabilities, including photography and video editing skills (desirable).
Knowledge:
- Awareness of the role of Students' Unions in a good student experience.
- Awareness of Greenwich Students' Union activities and services (desirable).
