Job Description
We are now working with a blue chip advisory firm based in London. The firm has a really strong client base of mid market private equity funds.
They are now looking to add a VP to their team to work on debt advisory/ leveraged finance mandates.
The role will provide a great opportunity for candidates seeking to continue a career in leverage finance and/or debt advisory with immediate direct deal involvement and working closely with the very experienced team. Ideal candidates will be looking outside the constraints of a larger, hierarchical financial institution for an opportunity to work in an entrepreneurial and fast-growing firm, where his/her contribution will be readily apparent every day.
Key responsibilities:
This role provides advice to private equity sponsor clients in understanding and achieving their financing objectives: • Lead day to day deal execution, and function as the key contact point for a transaction team, communicating with clients, lawyers, lender universe and other advisers to execute transactions • Develop own relationships with counterparts at clients, lawyers and finance providers • Assistance in developing strategic advice and structuring transactions • Analysis of financial models • Preparation and negotiation of transaction terms
Requirements:
• Outstanding academic results in a relevant discipline (minimum 2.1 or 1st obtained from a top-rated university) and an excellent professional record • Minimum 7 years of experience in investment banking, preferably in Leverage Finance, Structured Finance, Credit or Debt Advisory; • Candidates should have extensive asset leverage transaction experience and experience with private equity clients strongly preferable • High degree of intellectual curiosity combined with strong work ethic and self-motivation • Strong quantitative/analytical skills • Excellent oral and written communication skills • Professional maturity and experience that will enable you to build relationships with senior team members, private equity sponsor clients, lending institutions and other advisors • Ability to prioritise and handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines, working effectively both as an individual and as part of a team • Leadership skills and ability to manage junior team members • Fluency in English essential; an additional European language is useful • Eligible to work in permanent employment in the UK
