Overview
The GP Federation in Greenwich seeks to employ a newly qualified General Practitioner (within 2 years of certificate of completion) to work with Riverview Health PCN, a grouping of 5 practices. The GP will work autonomously and with other health care professionals in a primary care setting, providing high quality care to patients and supporting clinical governance.
Responsibilities
- To be involved in routine clinical work including surgery, online consultations, telephone consultations and answering patient queries.
- To visit patients at home as required and manage repeat prescriptions, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion.
- Screen patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness; develop care plans in collaboration with patients in line with current practice protocols.
- Provide counselling and health education; admit or discharge patients from the caseload and refer to other care providers as appropriate.
- Record clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards; compile and issue computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions; prescribe in line with the practice formulary.
- Be prepared to visit patients during surgery time in emergencies; participate in on-call sessions and extended hours as allocated by the practice rota; contribute to home visiting sessions as required.
Qualifications
Essential — Qualified GP with Full GMC registration and current UK registration; MRCGP; Vocational Training Certificate or equivalent JCPTGP; General Practitioner (Certificate of Completion of Training CCT) National Performers List registration (England); Appropriate defence indemnity (MPS/MDU); Evidence of current validation and last appraisal; Eligibility to practice in the UK independently.
Experience — Experience of working in a primary care environment; experience of continued professional development; experience of QOF and clinical audit; newly qualified GP with under 2 years from qualification; not previously substantively employed at a GP Practice; experience of medicines management and ICB initiatives; strong clinical knowledge and skills for an early-career GP.
