As Head of Finance, you will take ownership of the finance function—balancing strategic input with a hands-on approach. Acting as a key partner to senior leadership, you will drive financial performance, support growth initiatives, and ensure robust financial controls and reporting.

  • Accounting & Reporting
  • Lead the finance function, ensuring accurate and timely reporting
  • Deliver monthly management accounts, KPIs, and variance analysis
  • Oversee year-end accounts, audits, and tax compliance
  • Own cashflow forecasting and funding relationships
  • Develop insightful board reporting and support financial strategy
  • FP&A & Commercial
    • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and business planning processes
    • Partner with operational and commercial teams to drive performance
    • Support pricing, tenders, and margin optimisation
    • Provide financial insight on capex, investments, and growth opportunities
    • Drive cost-saving and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Systems, Process & Leadership
    • Enhance systems, processes, and automation across the business
    • Lead, develop, and mentor the finance team
    • Ensure strong governance and internal controls
  • External Relationships
    • Manage relationships with banks, auditors, and advisors
    • Support funding and strategic financing initiatives

    About You

    • Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)
    • Strong technical and commercial finance expertise
    • Experience in a fast-paced, owner-managed or SME environment
    • Background in manufacturing or operationally focused businesses
    • Proven ability to influence and partner across the business
    • Hands-on, detail-oriented, and commercially astute
    • A confident communicator and natural leader
