On an exclusive basis, Greenwell Gleeson are recruiting for a hands-on SME Financial Controller to work within a construction business based in Telford.
Duties of the role will include:
- Produce monthly management accounts and lead month-end processes
- Deliver margin analysis across projects, highlighting risks and opportunities
- Monitor project performance vs budget and forecast
- Develop and report KPIs and performance insights
- Prepare and present board-level reporting
- Manage cash flow and oversee invoice discounting facilities
- Maintain strong financial controls and improve processes
- Partner with operational teams to drive profitability
Skills, Requirements, Qualifications:
- Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)
- Proven experience in an SME Financial Controller (or similar) role
- Strong construction or project-based accounting experience
- Experience with invoice discounting / working capital funding
- Track record of producing management accounts and presenting to senior stakeholders
- Commercially minded and hands-on
- Strong Excel and analytical capability
- Clear communicator, confident at board level
- Proactive and detail-oriented
