On an exclusive basis, Greenwell Gleeson is seeking a Part-Time / Fractional Finance Director to support a relatively new enterprise. Entrepreneurial drive and vision have rewarded the Owner/MD with a constant stream of recurring revenue, with prospects for this to grow significantly in the coming quarters. As is sometimes the case, the processes/systems centred around transaction processing, controls reporting, and provision of information to customers will become an inhibitor to growth and profitability if not addressed.
Following a referral from their external accountant, we have been asked to provide senior support to eradicate issues and set the enterprise up for long-term success. Success has been defined to include the following:
- Immediate review of the accounting & administration issues that the enterprise is experiencing and work with the small but motivated Admin/Finance member to resolve the backlog.
- If required, engage with customers to quell discontent and offer comfort that short-term issues will be quickly resolved.
- Understand and report to the MD what the underlying issues with processes are. With that course, there is a requirement to provide recommendations that are implemented to stop them recurring going forward.
- On an ongoing basis, support the Owner/MD in growing the business by offering good counsel and instigating actions when required.
At present, it is envisaged all of the above can be achieved working approximately 2 days a week for a period of 3 months and then reverting to 1 day a week for a sustained period of time.
