On an exclusive basis, greenwellgleeson are recruiting for a no.1 Financial Controller to join an established and growing business based in Dudley. Reporting directly into the owner/founder of the business, this role will have the opportunity to grow into Finance Director over time. This is a hands-on role, responsible for leading the finance function, maintaining strong financial control, and supporting commercial decision-making as the business scales.
Duties of the role will include:
- Managing and developing the finance team
- Overseeing month-end close, management accounts and balance sheet control
- Budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management
- Financial oversight of multiple sites, including multiple P&Ls
- Commercial analysis of sales and margins
- Making strategic recommendations to the business
- Liaison with auditors and oversight of statutory reporting
- Driving improvements to finance processes and systems
- Working closely with the senior management team to improve overall profitability and growth
- Ad hoc projects within the team and wider business
Skills & Experience:
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)
- Proven hands-on Financial Controller (or similar) experience
- Multi-site retail experience is essential
- Strong people management experience
- Commercially minded with strong attention to detail
- Ambitious and driven to succeed
