A fast-growing AI-native law firm is looking to hire a senior real estate lawyer to help build its real estate practice. The firm advises sophisticated real estate PE, fund and institutional investor clients, using proprietary AI infrastructure to deliver complex legal work more efficiently. This is not a conventional law firm role.
The successful candidate will be client-facing, commercially central, and involved in shaping the workflows, playbooks and standards behind the firm's real estate offering. This role is best suited to someone who combines serious real estate transactional expertise with the judgement and confidence to own senior client relationships.
The roleYou will:
- Lead complex real estate transactions and workflows for PE, fund and institutional investor clients
- Act as a trusted senior counsel for clients across acquisitions, disposals, JVs, portfolio deals, corporate-wrapped real estate transactions, financings and related matters
- Help build the firm's real estate practice from an early stage
- Work closely with senior lawyers, engineers and leadership to turn legal expertise into repeatable AI-native workflows
- Shape documentation, playbooks and quality-control processes
- Operate in a small, fast-moving team where judgement, ownership and commercial sense matter more than hierarchy
You will likely have:
- 8+ PQE, probably more
- Strong real estate transactional experience
- Experience advising real estate PE funds, institutional investors, asset managers, REITs, developer/operators or similar clients
- Exposure to acquisitions, disposals, joint ventures, portfolio transactions, corporate-wrapped real estate deals, financings, living-sector transactions or investment management-related real estate work
- Top-tier law firm training, ideally from a strong real estate practice and/or In-house experience as Senior Counsel, Legal Director, Head of Legal or GC at a real estate investment platform, fund, asset manager or developer/operator would also be highly relevant
- The credibility to sit opposite sophisticated investors and own the legal relationship without heavy supervision
- Wants a conventional law firm ladder
- Needs a large institutional structure around them
- Has only general commercial property experience
- Is primarily leasing, planning, construction or residential focused
- Has not worked with fund, investor or institutional real estate clients
- Wants AI to remain a harmless side tool rather than part of the operating model
This is a rare chance to join at the point where the real estate practice is still being built. The role offers senior client exposure, genuine practice-shaping responsibility, equity and potential origination upside, alongside a serious base salary of £150k-£225k depending on experience. For the right person, it is a chance to move beyond the traditional law firm model without stepping away from high-quality real estate work.
LocationLondon preferred, though remote working is workable for the right candidate.
