Greentown is seeking to recruit an Operational Support Officer based at our Lisburn Depot.
This individual will work closely with key members of the Traffic Management and Events Teams, providing administrative and operational support to ensure the effective day-to-day running of the TM function.

The Role
The postholder will work closely with key members of the Traffic Management and Events Teams, providing administrative and operational support to ensure the effective day-to-day running of the TM function.
The role will involve assisting with processing permit applications, traffic management planning, sign design and production, customer enquiries, and focused support on the planning and delivery of traffic management to a range of events during peak periods.
Operational Responsibilities
The post holder will
- Answer incoming telephone calls and respond to enquiries in a professional and timely manner.
- Provide administrative support to the Traffic Management office and wider management team.
- Assist with the preparation and submission of permit applications and associated documentation.
- Support the design and manufacture of Special Information Signs and other traffic management signage as required.
- Assist in the preparation of Traffic Management drawings and plans, including making adjustments to these based on meeting customer needs whilst ensuring compliance to Chapter 8 requirements.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records on all aspects of work carried out.
- Ensure all documentation, permits, plans and correspondence are filed and stored appropriately.
- Liaise with clients, subcontractors, statutory bodies and other service areas within Greentown Companies, as required.
- Assist with the scheduling and organisation of operational activities, ensuring compliance with Chapter 8, ensuring appropriate staffing including skill mix whilst ensuring that the work is cost effectively managed.
- Support the Traffic Management team in ensuring all work is delivered in line with company procedures and client requirements.
- Take an innovative approach to Company business, identifying new and improved ways of working.
- Events Responsibilities

- During busy periods, provide support to the Events Team in the planning, preparation and delivery of traffic management to a range of events.
- Assist with the preparation of documentation relating to events including, traffic management plans and operational schedules.
- Liaise with client representatives, event organisers, suppliers and other service areas within Greentown Companies, to support the effective delivery of traffic management to a range of events.
- Assist in the coordination of all resources, including manpower and equipment required for events.
- Support senior team members with administrative and operational tasks before, during and after events.
- Contribute to the successful delivery of events through effective planning and organisation, ensuring clear communication with all those involved.
- General Responsibilities

- Undertake tasks as directed by senior members of the Traffic Management, management team.
- Promote a positive working environment, in line with the Company’s ethos of mutual respect to all.
- Maintain a professional and courteous manner when dealing with clients, colleagues and members of the public.
- Ensure compliance with Company policies and procedures, including Compliance, Health and Safety requirements.
- Maintain adequate records of Traffic Management and Events activities.
- Provide cover for absent colleagues, ensuring continuity of business.
- Carry out all tasks to the highest standard, ensuring client and company confidentiality in all aspects of their work.
- Undertake any other reasonable duties commensurate with the grade and nature of the post.
