As a Lawn Operative, you will be responsible for delivering a high level of professional service to customers across your treatment area, building relationships, and helping customers create lawns they will love.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain contact with customers before a treatment, informing them of appointment times.
  • Visit designated customers daily to apply fertiliser and herbicide.
  • Inform customers of work commencement; if unavailable, continue the treatment.
  • Notify customers upon completion and provide an invoice explaining the work performed.
  • Inform customers of the next treatment date.
  • Identify any lawn issues and offer necessary advice on lawn and mowing practices and any additional treatments.
  • Carry out essential spring/autumn machine work such as aerators, scarifiers and lawn top-dressers using a variety of professional lawn‑care machinery.
  • Perform aeration and scarification safely, using regular garden tools (e.g., rakes, leaf sweepers, and brooms) to clear waste.
  • Work alone or in a team on machine work that can be physically demanding.
  • Maintain standards of all health and safety practices as supplied by Green Thumb Limited.
  • Maintain a high level of cleanliness of the company vehicle and ensure all servicing is completed.
  • Ensure a professional and smart appearance at all times.
  • Carry out simple service calls as and when they arise.
  • Conduct lawn analysis and quotations as required.
  • Support business growth by speaking to potential customers and providing point‑of‑sale material as requested.
  • Maintain and update stock reports when required.

Qualifications:

  • Full UK driving licence for manual vehicles.
  • Excellent communication and customer‑facing skills.
  • Passion for lawn care.
  • Ability to work independently, outdoors, and stay active.
