Role Purpose

The Operations Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day operational performance of the companies manufacturing and production activities, ensuring products are delivered safely, efficiently, on time and to the required quality standards.

The role will work closely with Directors and key stakeholders to establish operational processes, improve productivity, support workforce growth and create a scalable operational framework that supports the companies continued expansion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operations & Production Management
  • Lead daily factory and operational activities.
  • Develop and manage production plans to ensure customer orders are delivered on time.
  • Monitor production outputs, efficiencies and capacity.
  • Identify and implement operational improvements to increase productivity and reduce waste.
  • Manage stock, materials and inventory levels to support uninterrupted production.
  • Quality & Process Control
  • Establish and monitor quality control procedures.
  • Investigate quality issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
  • Ensure operational documentation is up to date and consistently followed.
  • Supply Chain & Customer Delivery
  • Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely receipt of materials.
  • Monitor supplier performance and inventory requirements.
  • Work with commercial teams to ensure customer expectations and delivery schedules are achieved.
  • Resolve operational issues impacting customer service.
  • Introduce lean manufacturing and process improvement initiatives.
  • Develop KPIs and management reporting.
  • Analyse operational performance and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality and profitability.
  • Support strategic planning as the business grows.

Experience Required

  • Experience in an Operations Lead/Manager role managing teams.
  • Background within a manufacturing, production or factory environment.
  • Strong knowledge of production planning and operational delivery.
  • Experience implementing process improvements and operational controls.
  • Good understanding of Health & Safety requirements.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience within battery (High Voltage), engineering, manufacturing technology, cleantech, environmental, recycling or industrial sectors.
  • Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma or Continuous Improvement qualifications.
  • Experience supporting business growth and scaling operations.
  • FLT Licence
