About the Role

We’re offering an exciting opportunity to transition into the world of Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs) as a Trainee HGV Mechanic, with full support, structured training, and the chance to gain industry‑recognised qualifications. Working alongside experienced HGV Technicians, you’ll develop the skills and knowledge needed to maintain and repair a modern fleet to the highest standards.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Assisting with inspections, servicing, and repairs on HGVs
  • Learning how to diagnose faults using modern diagnostic tools
  • Supporting planned preventative maintenance and safety checks
  • Helping respond to vehicle breakdowns with support from experienced technicians
  • Accurately recording work using our maintenance software
  • Ensuring vehicles meet legal standards and are safe for the road
  • Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised workshop environment

What We’re Looking For

  • Background in light vehicle mechanics, plant maintenance, or similar
  • Basic understanding of vehicle systems and fault finding
  • A strong work ethic and willingness to learn
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Commitment to working safely and following procedures
  • Own tools preferred
