Panda Waste is a leading waste management provider dedicated to driving sustainability forward. We are currently hiring an experienced HGV Class 2 Driver to join our Birmingham team. Based at our Birmingham depot, you will be responsible for the collection and transportation of commercial waste using our modern fleet. This is a vital role in ensuring our customers receive a reliable service while we maintain our commitment to environmental best practices.

Working Hours

  • Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday, with occasional Saturdays on a rotational basis.
  • Start Time: 14:00 (2 PM) daily.

  • Weekly salary with paid breaks included.

Key Responsibilities

  • Vehicle Operation: Safely drive and operate HGV Class 2 vehicles for commercial waste collection.
  • Service Delivery: Complete efficient collection routes and ensure customer sites are left tidy.
  • Data Management: Weigh bins and accurately record collection data using an on-board tablet.
  • Maintenance: Conduct daily vehicle safety checks and report any incidents or defects promptly.
  • Compliance: Strictly adhere to waste management regulations, drivers’ hours, and the Working Time Directive.

Essential Requirements

  • Valid UK HGV Class 2 licence with current Driver CPC.
  • Digital tachograph card.
  • Physical Fitness: The role involves manual handling of waste containers.
  • Customer Focus: Strong communication skills and a professional manner.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work occasional Saturdays as required.
