As an Assistant Cook, you will:

  • Ensure that seasonal fresh fruit and vegetables are used whenever possible.
  • Cater for special occasions within the home.
  • Prepare, cook and serve meals.
  • Clear and wash up after meal preparation.
  • Ensure that kitchen hygiene and safety rules are observed.
  • Ensure that the kitchen is cleaned after use, and at the end of each shift, leave the kitchen in a clean and hygienic state.

To apply, you will need:

  • Experience of working in a kitchen environment
  • Experience of serving food in a professional environment
  • Relevant food hygiene and food preparation qualifications
  • An understanding of the importance of food for residents, including a balanced and varied diet
  • Strong communication skills
  • Experience in managing and supervising staff

The successful applicant will be appointed subject to providing evidence of ISA first and enhanced DBS disclosure. This post is not subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.
