We are now looking for a meticulous and people‑focused Payroll Specialist to join our finance team, a role that sits at the heart of ensuring our colleagues are paid accurately, on time, every time.
The Role
This is a hands‑on, end‑to‑end payroll position with responsibility, autonomy and impact. You will play a key role in ensuring compliance, accuracy and outstanding service to colleagues across our care homes.
Key Responsibilities
- Process end‑to‑end UK payroll accurately and on time
- Calculate manual SSP, SMP and SPP
- Ensure compliance with UK payroll legislation and HMRC RTI requirements
- Manage payroll queries with clarity, professionalism and empathy
- Support year‑end payroll processes including P60s and reconciliations
- Liaise effectively with HR, Finance and outsourced payroll providers
- Maintain high standards of data integrity and confidentiality
- Support continuous improvement of payroll processes and controls
What We’re Looking For
Essential
- 1–2 years’ UK payroll experience (mandatory)
- Proven end‑to‑end payroll processing experience
- Manual SSP/SMP/SPP calculation experience
- Strong knowledge of payroll legislation and compliance
- Strong numerical ability with excellent Excel skills
- High level of data accuracy and attention to detail
- Confident handling payroll queries with clear communication
Desirable
- Experience with payroll software such as ADP iHCM
- Experience working with outsourced payroll providers
- Experience managing year‑end payroll processes
