The continuing growth of this specialist Landscaping Contractor means that they are looking to recruit a Senior Estimator with experience in landscaping, groundworks or civils. The company are an award-winning landscaping and civil engineering specialist delivering high quality projects throughout the UK. Their portfolio spans all sectors from local authorities, royal parks, commercial developers, schools and universities to high-end luxury developers and even the RHS. Much of their work results from the quality of their portfolio and the long-term relationships that they have built with clients over the past 50 years!
The Job:
Working together with the Commercial Director you will prepare and submit Tender Packages for hard and soft landscaping works with values between £100k and £5m. You will be aware of the Scope of Works and Specifications for each project, review their financial integrity and contractual commitments.
* You will accurately measure PDF drawings to determine the scope of works and, if necessary, produce a Bill of Quantities, consistent with the specifications for pricing purposes.
* Distribute “sub-contract bid packages” as required and obtain prices for all of elements of the tender.
* Assist Clients with technical feedback at all stages of the tender and award process.
* Assign or propose Profit Margins based on department guidelines.
* Price bills of quantities ready for submittal and enter all supplementary bid information.
* Identify areas of risk or concern within the scheme and present them to the Senior Estimator.
* Attend Pre and Post Contract meetings with clients as required.
* Maintain the tender register.
* Contact clients for updates on bid submissions.
* Build and maintain strong, professional working relationships with clients, suppliers and sub-contractors.
The Person:
You will currently be working in an Estimating role in a Landscaping, Groundworks or Civils company and you will:
* Ideally have experience with estimating software.
* Have experience in preparing and submitting Commercial Landscaping, Groundwork or General Construction tenders.
* Have an understanding of Contracts and Project risk management.
* Have good general IT skills including MS Office and Excel.
* Be organised with good time management and used to meeting tender deadlines.
* A construction qualification would be useful but experience is of primary importance
* Current Driving Licence (essential)
