Job Summary

You will coordinate workplace safety and health activities, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and company standards, conducting inspections, training, and audits to promote a safe working environment.

Responsibilities

  • Execute duties in compliance with the WSH Act to maintain workplace safety standards.
  • Implement and support the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) management system across site operations.
  • Conduct daily inspections of machinery, equipment, plants, and installations to identify safety hazards.
  • Act as Site EHS Assessor to verify hazardous work activities and ensure proper controls.
  • Deliver EHS induction training to new employees and contractors to ensure safety awareness.
  • Communicate Risk Assessments and Safe Work Procedures effectively to workers and subcontractors.
  • Identify workplace safety hazards and develop and implement appropriate control measures.
  • Prepare and submit monthly WSH reports, Risk Assessments, Safe Work Procedures, and Permit to Work documents per Main Contractor requirements.
  • Monitor and enforce compliance with EHS Management System and legal safety requirements among workers and subcontractors.
  • Maintain and update EHS records and checklists to support safety management.
  • Participate in and facilitate internal and external safety audits to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Investigate and report all workplace safety incidents and near misses promptly and accurately.
  • Conduct workplace safety and related training sessions to enhance safety knowledge and practices.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Project Manager and Management to support safety objectives.

Required competencies and certifications

  • WSQ Advanced Certificate in Workplace Safety and Health with a valid Refresher Certificate.
  • Completion of a Risk Management course.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in construction safety coordination.

Preferred competencies and qualifications

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as a team player.
