Job Summary

You will supervise all civil and structural (C&S) works for a substation project at Tembusu Crescent, Jurong Island, ensuring structural integrity and constructability throughout this 2-year site-based role.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate C&S construction activities to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, regulatory requirements, and safety standards.
  • Monitor contractors’ work progress and promptly identify and resolve site issues to maintain project timelines and quality.
  • Provide technical guidance to the project team and stakeholders to support effective decision-making and problem resolution.
  • Review and verify shop drawings, method statements, and material submissions to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Prepare detailed site reports and support inspections, testing, and audits to uphold project standards.

Required competencies and certifications

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or a construction-related discipline meeting IES/ACES RTO registration criteria.
  • Registration with IES as a Civil & Structural Resident Technical Officer (RTO).
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in C&S RTO roles for building or infrastructure projects, preferably in substation or industrial developments.

Preferred competencies and qualifications

  • Safety-related certifications such as BCSS or equivalent.
  • Effective communication skills demonstrated through collaboration with consultants, contractors, and authorities in a team environment.
  • Proactive attitude to anticipate and address project challenges.
