We are looking for an experienced Security & Automation Engineer to join our technical field team. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, servicing, and fault-finding of a wide variety of electronic security and perimeter/building automation systems across commercial, healthcare, and high-end residential sites. A significant portion of our work takes place within sensitive and secure environments, including hospitals and mortuaries. As such, you must be professional, empathetic, and respectful of working protocols within these specialized environments. You will need to have broad multi-system experience across CCTV, access control, intruder alarms, and automated entry systems. You should also possess strong IP networking knowledge, solid skills in using computer technology, and the ability to configure software across various security platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, commission, service, and repair integrated electronic security and automation systems.
- Safely carry out installation and maintenance tasks at heights using step ladders, extension ladders, and powered access equipment (e.g., cherry pickers/MEWPs) for high-level CCTV, barriers, and door automation.
- Work comfortably and professionally within sensitive operational sites, including healthcare facilities and mortuaries, strictly following hygiene and safety protocols.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, and networking issues efficiently.
- Provide high-quality field support, carrying out routine maintenance and reactive service calls.
- Work cleanly, safely, and in full compliance with industry standards, Working at Height Regulations, and site safety guidelines.
- Deliver excellent customer service, showing empathy and clear communication when working in public-facing or high-sensitivity environments.
- Work independently and participate in an on-call rota if required.

- Intruder Alarms: Galaxy, Texecom, Pyronix, AJAX
- Automatic Doors: Geze, Record
- Automatic Gates & Barriers: CAME, FAAC
Requirements & Qualifications
- Proven hands-on experience installing and servicing multi-manufacturer security and automation systems.
- Comfortable working at heights using step ladders, ladders, and Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWPs / Cherry Pickers).
- Comfortable working within high-security and sensitive environments (e.g., healthcare settings and mortuaries).
- Strong understanding of IP networks, routing, and system integrations for CCTV and Access Control.
- Familiarity with relevant industry standards (BS 7858, EN 50131, BS 7036 / EN 16005 for powered doors).
- Security Screening: Must be eligible to pass BS 7858 security vetting (including a 5-year background history check and Basic DBS criminal record disclosure).
- Valid UK Driving License (Required).
- IPAF (3a/3b) or PASMA certifications are a strong advantage (training can be provided for the right candidate).
- Relevant manufacturer certifications or Gate Safe / ADSA accreditations are a strong advantage.
- Current CSCS card is ideal, but not essential.
