Greenpeace UK is an independent national/regional organisation within the global Greenpeace campaigning network, which acts to change attitudes and behaviour, to protect and conserve the environment and to promote peace.
As Technology Business Analyst, you'll help Greenpeace UK get the most out of our technology systems, translating operational challenges into clear, actionable technical solutions that enable teams across the organisation to achieve their goals. Your day-to-day will focus on gathering requirements, mapping out processes, configuring SaaS platforms, running tests, and looking for ways to streamline workflows with smart automations and AI capabilities. You'll work closely with vendors, lead discovery sessions with teams, and help build colleagues' confidence with tech through clear training, guides, and practical support.
You will achieve this by:
- Partnering with teams across Greenpeace to unpack operational challenges, map "as-is" and "to-be" workflows, and translate business needs into clear technical requirements.
- Demonstrating hands‑on administration and configuration across our technology stack - including tools for People & Culture, Finance, Logistics, and Fundraising - to ensure platforms are aligned with operational workflows.
- Planning and coordinating User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for system changes, working closely with software vendors and internal teams to ensure smooth, low‑risk deployments.
- Creating clear user guides, delivering training, and supporting colleagues through change, ensuring staff across all departments feel confident using our systems.
- Proactively identifying opportunities to automate manual tasks and integrate smart workflows, including AI capabilities, to save staff time and increase organisational impact.
About you
Sitting within the Technology Team, you will work closely with a range of stakeholders - including Fundraising, People & Culture, Programme, Logistics, and Finance & Operations - to get an in-depth understanding of their operational needs. You’ll act as the connector between non-technical colleagues and our technology systems, helping us get maximum value from our tech stack.
Essential criteria:
- Proven track record of leading discovery phases to translate non-technical business challenges into clear technical specifications, user stories, and "As-Is" / "To-Be" process maps.
- Hands‑on experience working across a diverse portfolio of SaaS tools (e.g. HR, Finance, Fundraising, Supporter Services, or Operations), including back‑end administration (workflows, permissions, custom fields, and automation).
- Experience designing and coordinating User Acceptance Testing (UAT), paired with creating clear user guides, documentation, and training plans that drive high system adoption across the organisation.
- Strong organisational and prioritisation skills with a track record of balancing multiple competing priorities and requests across different operational departments at once.
- Practical experience participating in cross‑functional Agile teams (Scrum/Kanban), contributing to sprint planning, backlog refinement, and proactively identifying quick‑win automations or process improvements.
We give you:
You’ll be encouraged to develop both personally and professionally, taking advantage of the wide range of learning and development opportunities available to our staff. We offer great benefits such as a generous pension scheme, subsidised lunches, free yoga and a wealth of well‑being resources, just to name a few.
Our commitment to diversity:
We acknowledge that people from certain backgrounds are under‑represented in environmental and campaigning organisations and we're committed to doing what we can to correct this. One of our Anti Racism Plan objectives is to proactively achieve stronger representation of people of colour, particularly within leadership positions, and we have recently published ambitious race representation targets. As part of our commitment to increasing representation of people from underrepresented communities in the environmental sector, we are piloting a Guaranteed Interview Scheme (GIS) as a new approach to make our recruitment more equitable. If you identify as a person of colour, you can choose to opt in to the Guaranteed Interview Scheme. We will be aiming to offer everyone who opts into the scheme and meets the essential criteria a first stage interview. While we fully intend to honour this, exceptionally high application volumes may affect our capacity. If so, we will communicate clearly and keep candidates informed as we continue to learn and improve.
Greenpeace UK is an inclusive and diversity‑friendly employer. We value difference, promote equality and challenge discrimination, enhancing our organisational capability. We welcome and encourage applications from people of all backgrounds and do not discriminate on the basis of disability, race, colour, ethnicity, gender, religion, sexual orientation, age or any other category protected by law.

How to prepare for a job interview at Greenpeace
✨Brush Up on Your Technical Skills
For an IT consulting role, be ready to demonstrate your technical prowess. You might face questions on systems integration, cloud technologies, or even troubleshooting specific software. If you have experience with tools like AWS, Azure, or even specific programming languages, make sure you can talk about them fluently.
✨Showcase Your Problem-Solving Approach

Since IT consulting often involves teamwork and client interactions, expect behavioural questions that assess your interpersonal skills. Be prepared with examples that demonstrate your adaptability, communication skills, and how you handle client feedback. Before the interview, think of situations where you worked closely with clients to create effective IT strategies or changes.
