A new and exciting opportunity has opened for a Sustainability Consultant based in the West Midlands to join a leading Environmental & Engineering consultancy, working on diverse projects that support sustainable outcomes in the built environment.
About the Role
As a Sustainability Consultant, you will contribute to a range of environmental and energy performance services across different stages of the building lifecycle — from initial concept and planning through to delivery and post-construction. The role offers a balance of technical work, client engagement, and ongoing learning.
You will be involved in:
- Carrying out sustainability assessments (e.g. BREEAM)
- Preparing sustainability reports to support planning applications
- Undertaking feasibility studies for low and zero carbon technologies
- Completing passive design analysis and climate-based modelling
- Carrying out embodied carbon assessments using lifecycle tools such as One Click LCA
Over time, there is scope to expand into additional areas such as health and wellbeing certification, circular economy analysis, and other emerging sustainability topics.
About You
You will ideally have:
- A degree in Sustainability, Environmental Design, Architecture, Engineering, or a similar discipline
- A working knowledge of environmental assessment methods and tools (e.g. BREEAM, LCA software)
- The ability to manage tasks effectively and work to deadlines
- A real interest in the transition to low-carbon, sustainable built environments
- Previous consultancy or industry experience (3+ years)
