About the Role:
Our clients are expanding their ecology team across Ireland and have multiple openings for Ecologists, Senior Ecologists, and Principal Ecologists. Whether you're an emerging professional ready to take on more responsibility or a senior leader shaping large‐scale ecological strategy, this role gives you the chance to make a real impact on biodiversity protection, habitat management, and sustainable development. You'll work on projects spanning infrastructure, renewable energy, land development, and conservation planning, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams of planners, engineers, and environmental specialists.
Key Responsibilities (Depending on Level):
- Ecologist (2–4 years)
- Conduct field surveys including habitats, bats, birds, mammals, and flora.
- Prepare ecological assessments and mitigation strategies.
- Contribute to EIAR and NIS chapters.
- Support data analysis and reporting under senior guidance.
- Senior Ecologist (4–6 years)
- Lead project delivery, field coordination, and quality assurance.
- Prepare and review high-quality EcIAs and biodiversity reports.
- Mentor junior staff and promote best practice in data collection and reporting.
- Liaise with planning authorities, stakeholders, and clients.
- Principal Ecologist (6–10+ years)
- Oversee complex, multi‐site ecological projects.
- Provide strategic ecological input and guide business development.
- Manage client relationships and direct overall project delivery.
- Drive innovation, mentoring, and continuous improvement within the ecology team.
What You'll Bring:
- Minimum BSc in Ecology, Biology, Environmental Science, or related discipline (MSc desirable).
- Strong understanding of Irish and EU environmental legislation.
- Excellent report writing, communication, and analytical skills.
- Membership (or eligibility) of CIEEM or other relevant professional body.
- Full clean Irish or EU driving licence.
