Greenjets is an innovative engineering company developing high-performance propulsion systems for the aviation market. Our work spans research and development, engine production, aircraft systems, technical integration and flight testing. We are committed to delivering high-grade engineering and best-in-class propulsion for unmanned aircraft. We do things differently. We move fast, we experiment and we adopt technologies that push beyond the current state of the art. Our aim is to go further, faster and more efficiently, while keeping costs competitive. All our propulsion systems are designed, developed and manufactured in the UK. We focus on high quality, reliable and cost effective products supported by a robust, secure and ethical supply chain.

The Development Technician plays a key role in building, integrating and operating advanced mechanical systems and prototype hardware. This is a hands‑on role focused on assembly, modification, testing and deployment - working closely with engineers to bring complex systems from concept through to real‑world operation. You’ll support the build and integration of large, high‑performance mechanical and pneumatic systems, helping ensure they are assembled, tested and maintained to a high standard. The role also involves supporting field activities, including work in challenging environments both in the UK and overseas. This is an ideal role for someone with strong mechanical fitting experience who enjoys working on complex hardware, solving practical problems and seeing systems operate in the real world.

What You'll Do

  • Build and assemble mechanical systems and subsystems from engineering drawings and instructions
  • Fit, align and install components, ensuring tolerances and specifications are met
  • Integrate pneumatic systems, pressure components and associated hardware
  • Support system testing, commissioning and operation in both workshop and field environments
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical and integration issues during build and test
  • Modify, rework and improve hardware based on test feedback and engineering input
  • Operate workshop equipment for fabrication and component modification (e.g. drilling, machining, finishing)
  • Safely handle and move large assemblies using appropriate lifting and rigging equipment
  • Support field deployments, including overseas test activities where required

Desirable Qualifications, Experience & Attributes

  • Background in mechanical engineering, or equivalent hands‑on technical experience
  • Proven experience in mechanical assembly, fitting and repair of complex or large‑scale systems
  • Strong practical skills - assembly, machining, fabrication, wiring and mechanical fitting
  • Experience with pneumatic systems, pressure equipment and associated safety standards
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics and CAD models
  • Comfortable operating workshop machinery and standard fabrication tools
  • Experience working with heavy or high-performance equipment is advantageous
  • Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, prototype-driven environment
  • Practical problem-solver with a proactive, “make it work” mindset
  • Willingness to travel and support activities in the field, including overseas when required
