About Us: Greenjets is building the future of sustainable aviation. As we scale next‑generation propulsion and aircraft assembly programmes, we are looking for a Tooling Manufacturing Engineer to lead the design and development of production tooling used across engine and aircraft assembly operations. This is a hands‑on engineering role at the intersection of design, manufacturing and industrialisation - ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex assembly challenges and creating tooling solutions that directly impact production performance.
About the Job: You will be responsible for designing, developing and implementing tooling solutions that support the assembly of engines, structures and aircraft systems. Working closely with manufacturing, design and production teams, you’ll ensure tooling is robust, repeatable, safe and production‑ready. From early prototype builds through to scaled production, you’ll play a key role in enabling efficient and high‑quality assembly processes.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop tooling, jigs, fixtures and assembly aids for engine and aircraft assembly
- Support manufacturing and production teams with tooling improvements and process optimisation
- Create detailed CAD models, manufacturing drawings and tooling documentation
- Work closely with design engineering to ensure manufacturability and assembly efficiency
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on build quality, repeatability and production throughput
- Support root cause investigations and implement corrective tooling solutions
- Manage tooling through the full lifecycle — concept, validation, production and maintenance
- Coordinate with suppliers and machine shops for tooling manufacture and procurement
- Ensure tooling complies with aerospace quality, safety and regulatory requirements
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in tooling design within aerospace, automotive, motorsport or advanced manufacturing environments
- Strong understanding of manufacturing and assembly processes
- CAD proficiency (Ideally 3DX)
- Experience designing assembly fixtures, jigs, lifting equipment or precision tooling
- Knowledge of tolerance stack‑ups, GD&T and production engineering principles
- Practical, hands‑on engineering mindset with strong problem‑solving ability
- Comfortable working in fast‑paced development and production environments
Desirable
- Experience supporting engine assembly or aircraft production
- Knowledge of composite and metallic structures manufacturing
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing and industrialisation processes
- Experience working with external tooling suppliers and fabrication partners
