About the Job
We are looking for a Financial Controller to take ownership of Greenjets' core finance operations. This is a handsâon role focused on financial reporting, cash management, and robust financial control, ideal for someone who enjoys being close to the detail while partnering across the business. You will be responsible for producing high-quality management information, maintaining a strong set of books, and ensuring the business has clear visibility over cash and performance. You will manage a small finance team, work closely with the CFO, and act as a key finance partner to engineering, operations, and leadership. External accountants will continue to support payroll, statutory accounts, and tax, but you will own and coordinate the relationship and ensure accuracy and timeliness.
What You'll Do
- Financial Reporting & Control
- Own the monthâend close and production of monthly management accounts
- Maintain a robust, wellâstructured set of books in Xero
- Ensure strong financial controls, reconciliations, and documentation
- Prepare clear variance analysis and insight for leadership
- Oversee monthly reporting for overseas subsidiaries, including consolidation of international entities into group management accounts
- Support and review reporting from inâcountry accountants to ensure consistency, accuracy, and alignment with group reporting standards as the business expands globally
- Cash & Working Capital Management
- Own shortâterm cash visibility, including 13âweek rolling cash flow forecasts
- Monitor runway, cash burn, and working capital closely
- Partner with the CFO on cash planning, scenario analysis, and funding readiness
- Systems, Data & Process
- Maintain and improve financial models and reporting in Excel
- Continuously improve finance processes to support a scaling business
- Ensure data integrity between finance systems and operational data
- People & Stakeholder Management
- Manage and develop a small finance team
- Act as a finance partner to teams across engineering, operations, and commercial
- Coordinate with external accountants on payroll, statutory accounts, and tax filings
- Governance & Readiness
- Support audit, investor reporting, and board materials
- Help build finance capability suitable for future scale, funding rounds, and growth
Desirable Qualifications, Experience & Attributes
- Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)
- Experience in earlyâstage or scaleâup hardware companies
- Comfortable in a handsâon controller role rather than purely strategic finance
- Experience working with external accountants and advisors
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of management accounting and financial controls
- Advanced Excel skills
- Considerable, practical experience with Xero
- Experience with Reporting Forecasting & Consolidation software (we use Fathom)
- Strong understanding of cash flow forecasting and runway management
Personal Attributes
