Greenio Ltd is looking for a proactive and commercially minded Technical Estimator and Support Engineer to join our growing renewable energy business based in Long Bennington, near Newark.
Part of the TLS Energy Group, Greenio helps homeowners and businesses across the UK reduce energy costs and build a more sustainable future through renewable technologies including solar, EV charging, batteries, and energy‑efficient upgrades. The Role
Reporting to the Managing Director, this varied technical role combines solar PV system design, tendering support and technical customer assistance. You will be responsible for producing accurate, competitive, and technically sound cost estimates for solar and renewable energy projects. You will also support projects from initial enquiry through to installation and commissioning, ensuring designs are compliant, commercially viable and technically robust. This role will play a key part in bridging sales, engineering, and project delivery, ensuring that all proposals are commercially viable, technically feasible, and aligned with client requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Design domestic and commercial solar PV systems
- Produce system layouts, string designs and generation forecasts
- Assist with battery storage and EV charger integration designs
- Prepare technical submissions and tender documentation
- Review client specifications and tender requirements
- Provide technical support to customers, installers and internal teams
- Assist with troubleshooting of solar, battery and inverter systems
- Liaise with manufacturers regarding technical issues and warranty claims
- Support DNO applications including G98/G99 submissions
- Assist with commissioning documentation and handover packs
- Ensure all designs comply with current regulations and industry standards
- Work closely with sales and operations teams to support project delivery
- Keep up to date with industry products, legislation and technical developments
About You
We are looking for a candidate with proven experience within the solar PV industry and a strong understanding of solar PV system design principles. You have experience using solar design software such as EasyPV, OpenSolar or similar. You bring solid technical understanding of G98/G99 regulations, battery storage systems, inverters, EV charging integration and BS 7671 requirements. You’ll also be comfortable turning technical detail into practical outputs, with experience producing quotations, technical submissions, and tender responses. A natural problem‑solver, you’ll be able to troubleshoot technical challenges and manage multiple projects and priorities with confidence. Strong communication and organisational skills are essential. You hold a full UK driving licence.
