BakerHicks is looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our growing Aviation team, supporting the delivery of major airport and aviation infrastructure projects across the UK.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced commercial professional who brings strong contract administration expertise, particularly within NEC contracts, and is looking to work on complex, high-value infrastructure programmes. You will support the successful delivery of aviation projects ranging from terminal developments and airfield infrastructure to baggage handling systems, utilities and operational improvement programmes.
Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will provide commercial leadership throughout the project lifecycle, supporting clients, project managers and delivery teams to achieve successful project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Leading cost management activities across a portfolio of aviation projects.
- Preparing and managing cost plans, estimates, forecasts and commercial reports.
- Administering NEC contracts, including early warnings, compensation events and change management processes.
- Assessing contractor applications, valuations and final accounts.
- Providing commercial and contractual advice to clients and project teams.
- Supporting procurement activities, tender evaluations and contract awards.
- Managing commercial risks and identifying opportunities to improve project performance.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, contractors and key stakeholders.
About You
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related discipline.
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor within infrastructure, transportation, aviation or construction projects.
- Strong NEC contract administration experience is essential.
- Demonstrable experience managing commercial risk, change control, contractor valuations and final accounts.
- Excellent commercial awareness and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience working within multidisciplinary project environments.
- MRICS, or working towards chartership, is desirable.
