We are pleased to announce a new opportunity to join our business as a Yard Operative at our PDI site in Fenton. This role plays a key part in supporting the day-to-day operations of the yard, ensuring vehicles and equipment are handled safely and efficiently at all times. The successful candidate will help maintain high standards of organisation, cleanliness, and safety across the site, contributing to the smooth running of PDI activities and supporting the wider operational team.

The Yard Operative will be responsible for assisting with vehicle movements, preparing vehicles as required, and ensuring the yard remains a safe, well-organised, and productive working environment. Other duties may be required of the post holder in addition to those listed above and below, to ensure that the requirements of the business are met at all times.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Transferring vehicles on site.
  • Routine tasks such as fitting number plates, parking vehicles and processing keys.
  • Take a diligent, detail-oriented approach to all responsibilities, proactively identifying errors, risks, or inconsistencies before they escalate.
  • Recording work activity using a mobile device.
  • Associated administration.
  • The occasional delivery of vehicles is required.
  • To ensure cars parked in correct bay.
  • Arrival cars to be booked in within the specified timeframe.
  • Dispatch cars to be checked to ensure they meet company standards.
  • Maintaining a tidy and professional working environment, with emphasis on health and safety in the workplace.
