Greenhous DAF Birmingham is looking for a skilled and motivated

HGV Technician .

This is an excellent opportunity to work with a market-leading brand in a professional, well-equipped environment.

As an HGV Technician, you will play a key role in maintaining and repairing heavy goods vehicles to the highest standards of safety and performance.

Working as part of a professional workshop team, you will ensure vehicles are inspected, serviced and repaired efficiently to keep our customers on the road.

Salary

Negotiable, will be discussed at interview stage

Hours

  • Alternating Shifts
  • Average 45 hours per week
  • Week 1: Monday to Friday, 6:00 am – 3:00 pm
  • Week 2: Monday 1:00 pm – 10:00 pm, Tuesday to Friday 11:00 am – 8:00 pm

Other duties may be required of the post holder in addition to those listed above and below, to ensure that the requirements of the business are met at all times.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out routine maintenance, servicing and repairs on HGVs and trailers.
  • Diagnose faults using the latest diagnostic equipment.
  • Complete vehicle inspections and prepare vehicles for MOT testing.
  • Ensure all work is completed in line with manufacturer standards.
  • Accurately complete job cards and service records.
  • Work safely and maintain a clean, organised workspace.

Ideally, we are looking for

  • Qualified HGV Technician (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
  • Experience working on HGVs (DAF experience advantageous but not essential).
  • Strong diagnostic and fault‑finding skills.
  • HGV Class 1 or 2 licence desirable.
  • A positive, reliable and proactive attitude.
