The Role
To assist the Live Well Commissioning team to do everything possible to ensure it fulfils its primary purpose both effectively and efficiently; ensuring that evidence-based strategic commissioning and procurement deliver services that meet required outcomes, quality standards and value for money.
About You
We are looking for a motivated and collaborative commissioning professional who brings strong analytical skills and a clear understanding of health and social care commissioning within a public sector context. You will be confident working with complex data, translating insight into practical commissioning strategies, and supporting service redesign to improve outcomes and value for money.
You will be an effective communicator and relationship-builder, able to work in partnership with providers, people with lived experience, stakeholders and communities to co-produce solutions, influence change, and manage competing priorities.
Highly organised and self‑directed, you will be comfortable managing projects, producing high-quality reports and plans, and adapting to a fast‑paced environment. You will demonstrate sound judgement, an understanding of risk and regulatory frameworks, and a commitment to continuous improvement and professional development.
You will be someone who embraces the Council’s Values and Behaviours demonstrating accountability, determination, collaboration, respect and a commitment to making a difference in all that you do. Flexibility is essential, including occasional work outside normal office hours, ability to travel within the borough as required, and the ability to operate across both Live Well and Adult services commissioning pillars to meet service needs and ensure business continuity. This is a hybrid role, with an expectation of being physically present in Council offices for three days each week.
